PDC Electrical Contractors

Specialty Contractor > Electrical: Commercial > Electrical: Commercial

PDC working with plan designers at Zimmerman Architectural Studios, the power and wiring were run through the building highlighting the custom lighting in the cycling and cardio areas of the addition. Over 800 fixtures were installed in the new addition, including sound sensitive color changing lighting in cycling studio. The cardio room required 50 power and data connections for the multiple workout machines.

PDC wired controls for all doors and access points in addition installed interior and exterior cameras, recording equipment for inside and outside security. Also at this time wiring to support the new fire system was ran to bring the entire system to code.

Constricting site conditions due to limited site space required PDC to bring in material only as they could be used. This meant daily planning had to be executed with deliveries to the job site. As this was a hometown project for PDC we take great pride that we executed this project with PDC local personal. Having a few construction setbacks caused the project to incur some added labor and overtime, but we were able to handle the issues and provide the labor to get back on track.

With our dedicated PDC team, Safety is the highest priority through planning of our staff and zero lost on the entire course of this project. Over 15,890 man hours were put into this project.

On February 14th, 2022 the Green County YMCA received a Workforce Innovation Grant worth up to $3.7 million that would help the YMCA’s plan to expand and create a 5000 sq. ft. state of the art child care center and preschool wing as well as a 6000 sq. ft. Youth Development Wing as well as updating of existing facility into reality.

The Green County YMCA and General contractor CG Schmidt reached out to PDC to provide the electrical services to help them realize their project vision.

PDC began site preparation in June 2024 for the 5000 ft of underground conduit within the building and parking lot areas that laid the foundation for the 30,000 ft of internal conduit. The internal conduit houses 140,000 ft of branch circuiting wire and an additional 22,000 ft of feeder wire. Partnering with Carrousel Excavating this included excavating, backfill and restoration of the site. PDC then began to install the underground conduit and wire to support the new 1200 amp service as well as emergency power generator for the new building addition. Conduit will be serving main distribution panel, branch circuit panels with branch conduits from panels to multiple room in multiple areas.

Because of the PDC team, flexibility and determination to be a team leader has proven in this project to be completed with minimal issues and to serve the community of Green County.
